Frequency converter
The frequency converters in the 760 series are available in two versions. The IP 21 model (on the right) is suitable for installation in a switch cabinet. The IP55 design (on the left) comes fully wired in a switch cabinet with external control panel. This frequency converter is ideal for retrofitting motor spindles on machine tools. The named frequency converters cover the complete power range of our standard motor spindles up to 37 kW. Higher driving powers are worked out individually with the user.
All devices bear the CE symbol and comply with the EMC Directives of the EU. The use of a sheet steel housing with integrated power choke, RFI filter and other proven measures allows a high resistance to electromagnetic interference and low emission values.
The input chokes also reduce the circuit feedback caused by the frequency converter such as commutation glitches and harmonic waves. The highly developed vector control, fast ASIC modules and direct, 3-phase current measurement guarantee an exact motor control and mean that the frequency converter can also be used for very demanding applications.
The easily understood control panels as well as PC tools and concise operating instructions mean that the 760 series frequency converters can be used for almost any application.
Selection of frequency converters
All frequency converters are listed by rated output currents. The converters feature two different current values, ICT and IVT (CT = constant torque; VT= variable torque). ICT is used for applications requiring high dynamics (load changes and fast ramp periods).
The converter is designed so as to allow for 50% overload for 1 minute at intervals of 10 minutes, as well as a starting current amounting to 250% of the rated current. The IVT values are provided for drives which do not require an overload. As the starting current is proportional to the torque, the converter output current of constant torque drives is also constant, independently of the motor speed. The converters can also be used for multi-motor applications. In such cases, the total of the motor rated currents must be lower than the converter’s rated current. We recommend dimensioning the converter according to the ICT values for multi-motordrives.
